You know I can't resist showing you some fancy frocks and these are from the Metropolitan Museum of Arts' Costume Institute Gala (that's a mouthful eh?). I think the theme to the very glamourous evening was trying to have the most unusual dress and with that motivation there were some big winners and losers! So these are my favourites;

Kylie kicked off her new tour in Paris last night dressed by Jean Paul Gaultier. As always she was immaculate and the costumes were the right mix of fashion and showgirl. I picked out my faves but the picture of her doing the splits is possibly the most amazing thing I've seen for a while! Personally I think this queen of reinvention has a lot more tricks left up her sleeve than her predecessor Madonna who was pictured kissing a girl on stage again today - yawn!
Not sure how many of you are as addicted to American Idol as me but despite the travesty in judgement that happened this week with Carly Smithson being sent home, I wanted to pay tribute to the dress she was wearing! She completely rocked this Phillip Lim beaded paisley dress and if you have the money it's $675 from Net-a-Porter!
I have said before how much I adore Kelly Brook's style but her outfit last night at the TV Bafta awards proved once more that she is a woman who just gets how to dress her shape and put together a "look". Her simple but gorgeous navy dress was stunning as were her earrings, and her make up was completely flawless. However although reports say her Dior fur stole was vintage, I just can't condone it and that's the one thing that lets down this look for me. So 9/10 for this Kelly and fake fur next time maybe?
The new Kate Moss for TopShop collection launched today in store and on-line. It's theme is the "Bohemian Traveller" but whilst I get that it's meant to be eclectic, it really doesn't work as a collection for me. There are some great pieces, for example the super fab embroidered pinstripe jacket (£65), the indian print vest (£18), the 50's style dress (£45), and the senorita dress (£150) but it does just feel again like they have taken her wardrobe and mass produced it. There are no real common colour themes to even hang it together. Anyway rant over, check out the pieces individually and judge them that way!
So last night was the final for Project Runway US and although this is surprising to me to say it, I think the best man won! Christian Siriano's collection was stunning and whilst probably the least accessible to the "normal" woman I think it was truely inspirational which is what catwalk fashion is meant to be about. Whilst I loved the beautifully tailored jackets he is so good at, this dress on the right was my favourite piece and a nice departure for him.
At 21 and with his "fierce" confidence I'm sure that Christian has the fashion world at his feet and with some careful decision making could have an amazing career. I think it's a really wise idea for the producers of Project Runway to include a years management as part of the prize, particularly for this winner who is just starting out in the industry - it would be a shame for us all to not see his potential.

I was browsing Faith's website and noticed the shoe on the left. I didn't think for £50 they were a bad version of the million dollar shoe on the right which weren't worn by Diablo Cody on the night anyway!
