TopShop - Crazy is trendy?

Did I miss a memo whist not living in the UK?  Unless I'm much mistaken some of the new trends in TopShop are just a little bit crazy!  Let's take the sequin bow tie first as an example.  It comes in four colours (to match any of your vegas croupier outfits!) and is £20 - not hugely cheap so it's a wear more than once item really!  Then below we have the oversized bow hair band.  Yes we all know I would buy and wear this but still, it's a very strong statement for the majority of people!  This is also available in four colours for £25. What do you think - bold is beautiful?

Oasis - Jewel Occasionwear

Ready for the Autumn/Fall season Oasis have steered their always wedding worthy occasionwear towards jewel colours - beautiful purples and dark pinks.  I've put together the above to give you a feel for it - gorgeous don't you think?

Celia Birtwell - New collection

There is a new Celia Birtwell collection in TopShop currently and if you liked the previous ones you'll love this one! It's full of her trademark prints and shapes such as this pussy bow blouse at £45. Catch them quickly ready for Autumn!

Clothes swap!

So tonight I went to my first ever clothing swap!  A friend of a friend holds a quarterly event at her home where you bring all the clothing you no longer want in your wardrobe and lay it out for anyone else to grab!  What's awesome is I totally didn't expect to get much (I know how picky I am!), but I got a great pair of Gap sandals (not worn!) and a swing jacket that I am in love with!  I also got a basic black cardi and a printed Gap shirt I wanted when it was in the stores!  

I was worried about the etiquette of such an event, but the excessive amounts of wine and cheerful attitudes meant it was hugely fun and as long as you tucked away the stuff you wanted it is never in danger of being re-taken.  One note, don't take any clothes with emotional attachment - when you hear people criticising or laughing it might be too much to bear!  That being said, the fashion show of hilarious clothes was a highlight of the evening.

New shoes - Nine west

I have been shopping rather a lot lately (and not posting!) due to some San Francisco visitors with pounds to spend!  So the next few posts will be recaps on my exciting new items, the first being some sale bargains from Nine West. These fabulous jewelled ballet flats are $29.99 and the pink baublelicious sandals are just $19.99! Both are very Amy shoes I'm sure you'll agree!

New dress

I went shopping yesterday and amongst the sale diving in Anthropologie I found this awesome dress.  It's a love or hate it definitely, but I'm happy to say when I wore it out on date night last night the maitre d' commented immediately :)  So below is a representation of the total outfit - tan riding boots (mine are actually from Office), a black belt (mine new from H&M yesterday), a lucite circle necklace (mine from ebay) and a stack of bangles.

Warehouse lace trim dress

This is a beautiful dress (£80) I have picked out to show you from Warehouse for a perfect evening wedding statement.  I dressed it up with just some really simple accessories as the dress does so much of the talking!  The earrings, bracelets and bag are from Oasis and the shoes are from ASOS.

TopShop - Yellow dress

I spotted this lovely yellow dress (£45) in the new items in TopShop and immediately thought of how I would wear it!  So I've had a play and come up with two ways - all items are available from TopShop.

As a side note, I know some people think leggings have had their day (or year or two!) in the fashion spotlight but I'm just not ready to give them up yet :) 

Coleen Rooney

How can I not write anything about how completely wonderful Coleen McLoughlin looked as she became Mrs Rooney? Admittedly next to Wayne Rooney most people would look pretty great (he did look like a troll in a suit), but I must say I think she had the most beautiful dress I have ever seen - excepting my own maybe! Even so, I was saying to a friend, if I had my time over I would definitely be searching for a cheap copy of her Marchesa gown! So a big pat on the back for the most stylish, classy footballer's wedding ever and congratulations to the high street bridal company that makes the closest copy of the dress - it'll be a best seller!

Oasis occasionwear
